Larissa Giles (Smitten Kitten)
Larissa possesses an extensive background in performance art, including gymnastics, with two-time national champion titles circa late 80’s early 90’s. Additionally, she has expertise in flow arts with fire and LED since 2015, performing at various festivals, art shows, and private parties. Larissa has also graduated from Kent State University as a physical therapy assistant and has furthered her career as a massage therapist, holistic health and wellness coach, Shamanic Practitioner, herbalist, Reiki Practitioner, and self-taught sound alchemist.

Samantha Novak
Samantha Novak, aka Midna Triforce, has been active in the Circus, Theatre, and Flow Arts community for over a decade. Her journey began in high school speech and debate, later expanding through college improv and stage combat. She performed as Abby Normal the Jester at the Great Lakes Medieval Faire (2008–2011) and grew into fire performing, hula hoop dance, and stilt walking. She’s performed at Cleveland’s Ingenuity Fest, Theatre Bizarre, Electric Forest, and more. Now in her 4th year at Starwood Festival, she returns as a Fire Performer and Acting Instructor—aiming to help others tap into confidence and universal connection through performance.

Eclectic Witch & Circus artist, Jennifer has a passion for connecting with others.
Based out of Cleveland Ohio, Jen has spent many years as an Aerial Arts Instructor, Stilt Walker & Performer of many kinds. Her goal is encourage healing, release & expression threw movement and art across all walks of life. Movement holds power and the ability to release deep emotions. We all have a spark within!

Angelina Rose
Angelina Rose is a passionate performing artist that works as a hoop dancer, choreographer, dance instructor and experience creator. She is a classically trained ballerina who has traveled the world sharing the joy of movement arts. Her performances blend grace, rhythm, and raw energy, creating moments of connection and wonder. With a heart rooted in play, growth and healing, she believes movement is a powerful antidote to a world that often forgets joy and uplifting others. Through every spin and spark, she invites others to feel fully alive.

Alexa Gurley
Alexa is a skilled fire performer based out of Edinboro, PA, and a proud member of GLOvation Entertainment. Spinning fire since 2018, she specializes in Dragon staff, fans, poi, and palm torches, captivating audiences with her precision, energy, and commanding presence. Outside the flame, Alexa is also an international musician with music available on all major platforms. As a practicing pagan deeply connected with her Norse gods and goddesses, she often uses fire as a sacred offering—infusing each performance with ritual, reverence, and spiritual intention. Alexa is honored to bring her magic to The Starwood Fire Goddesses, lighting up the night with both fire and soul.


Alyssa Williams
Alyssa is a performing artist centralized in northeast Ohio. Her passion for the flow arts was ignited in 2015 when she first witnessed fire performing and discovered hula hooping. Since then, she’s brought her fire to several festivals and private events in the Midwest alongside groups like the Ohio Burn Unit and the Flow Syndicate. She accredits much of her personal growth to the discovery of flow arts which quickly became a powerful catalyst in her life that not only deepened the connections between her mind, body and spirit, but also her connection with others through movement and play. She’s so excited to share her debut Starwood Festival experience with the Fire Goddesses and each of you!

Jakkie Hamby
Welcome Miss Mystic! Jakkie first began her circus journey in 2018, starting with poi. After falling in love with flow arts and fire, she branched out into performing under “Miss Mystic” and has been teaching workshops and bouncing from troupe to troupe since! Most known for her passion for Dragonstaff, Jakkie also enjoys performing juggling, poi, hoop, rope dart, and fire eating. Jakkie works with many troupes in northeast Ohio including the Ohio burn unit, Crooked river circus, Midnighr Art club, the Tantalizing tigers, and formerly Anadono which was known for its art galleries and flow workshops. Jakkie is inspired to be part of the Starwood community as her love of ritual, magick, herbalism, and community is shared in this healing space.

 

Tonya (Lou) Gibson
Fire performer and flow artist that blends dance, art, and fire for a raw energy performance. She captivates audiences with mesmerizing hula hooping, palm torches, and fan dancing. With over a decade of fiery passion, she has had the honor of leading the fire circle at Full Circle Hoop Camp and regularly performs for the Ohio Burn unit. Join her and the Fire Goddesses at The Starwood Festival for a blazing performance that will leave you spellbound!


Bob Baeslack
Bob has been a fire fanatic for years, if not his whole life! As a Pyrotechnic exhibitioner for American fireworks he is certified in fire saftey tech and procedures. Working alongside many performers and artist groups over the last decade, he ensures the saftey of the audience and crowd as well as his teams. Want to learn about Fire Saftey? Bob is your guy!

The Workshops

Samantha Novak
Yes – And! An Improvisation Acting Workshop

We are bringing this entertaining workshop back! For beginners and experienced folks alike, come play! We will go over the basics of improv, engage in volunteer exercises and collaborate in creative scenes. This workshop will also leave you with some tips on finding opportunities and communities to continue practicing improvisation acting. Audience members are also welcome to join. Please make sure to bring water to stay hydrated.

Aerial Alchemy

Come explore Aerial hoop-lyra! A circle represents unity, wholeness, and sacred space. It is used to create a protective boundary and amplify energy. Starting with some stretching and warm ups, then we will move to the air! Connecting with our own bodies as we explore different movements & shapes. Please wear Bottoms & bring water!

Alyssa Williams
Intro to Flow

Don’t know where to start? This workshop focuses on the best parts of being new at something: self discovery and play! Come learn some of the fundamental movement patterns that translate between all flow props. Beginners of any flow prop welcome! Bring your own prop or come try out one of props that’ll be available: hoops, fans, leviwand. We will meet you at your level – beginner or intermediate!

Fire Safety & Etiquette

Participants will learn how to spot a fire spinner properly, how to extinguish props safely, and how to rotate fire safety positions after you have had a turn to spin. The do's and don't at the fuel station. Proper attire is required. Only fire safe clothing is acceptable (we will give a list of fire attire). Prop check to ensure crowd safety. Anyone who intends to spin fire throughout the week must attend this class and obtain a wristband to certify completion. Open burns will be held at the Fire Goddess Academy throughout the week - look for their sign.

Let’s Get Moving

A dynamic workshop that combines stretching and ecstatic dance to unlock emotional release and ignite a powerful energy flow.  Please bring a Yoga mat and water.

Jakkie Hamby
Everything Flows: Dragonstaff, sticks, poi, rocks

An intro to everything! This class is a place to bring any prop or item and learn some fundamentals. This is also a place to have fun with whatever you have! Jakkie can teach most props including dragonstaff, double staves, triads, juggling clubs, juggle balls, rope dart, hula hoop, and poi. Even a stick or a broom or some random rocks can become an intriguing prop with the right perspective! This is an intro class, so bring your props to be put into smaller groups and then given breakout activities to help you begin your journey in anything! You will be given a skill matched to your level from beginner to advanced, but this class is best enjoyed by beginners!

This hands-on intro to juggling covers foundational techniques like the three-ball cascade, body positioning, and rhythm timing—all in a fun, low-pressure environment. Whether you’ve never juggled before or just want to tighten your tosses, we’ll help you build confidence, coordination, and flow. Props provided or bring your own!

Blending flow drills with performance-ready combos, this all-levels hoop class teaches isolations, wedgies, chest rolls, foot hooping, and more. Build a hoop sequence that’s entirely your own!
